A Letter from the Crazy Pug Lady

pugs_17Hey Samuel,

Its Kate here from Bold Park aka crazy pug lady. I absolutely love the passion you show in your blog. It’s a very interesting read especially the transparency you have with your audience by sharing your experiences.

I was very intrigued by your experience of self healing by talking to your eye. Being from a health professional background we go with science but I also believe in the human willpower to want to get better and heal.

Having worked in a rehab setting in aged care and in hospitals you always had two types of patients (generally speaking), those who will do everything humanly possible to get better/put 110% in their rehab program or those who’d rather just sit in bed waiting for time to pass.

Another topic you cover is mindfulness.

I have practiced mindfulness techniques and have learnt about them through studies at Uni.

For me though with my overactive analytical critical mind it wasn’t always the best technique.

Another type of therapy I’ve used is acceptance and commitment therapy (Dr Russ Harris) http://www.actmindfully.com.au/acceptance_&_commitment_therapy

Both have their merits and work in different situations and for different people.

It’s a very brave thing to put yourself out there, though in saying that, it looks like you’re having lots of fun with your blog.

Look forward to reading your next blog.

Kate.

I’m off to have a coffee with Kate today… and her two pugs, Bruce and Winston. Stay chooned.
